BISD Dominates District Auditions

Brownsville and five other school districts competed in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 28 choir auditions held on Saturday, September 28 at Weslaco East High School. A total of 87 BISD choir students earned places in the regional choir and secured 7 alternate positions. This number represents 54% of the choir spots that were available. BISD choir results -BECHS - 1 -Hanna – 31 +1 alternate -Lopez - 6 -Pace – 5, Brandon Binder won 1st chair in the bass I section -Porter – 5+2 alternate -Rivera – 25 + 1 alternate, Briana Salas won 1st chair in the soprano II section -Veterans Memorial – 14 + 3 alternates and students on their achievements
