What’s for Supper?

Beginning on Monday, September 1, Brownsville ISD students will have access to a full meal at the end of the school day. Brownsville ISD is participating in the Supper Program through a federally funded program called the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) administered by the district’s Food and Nutrition Service and the Texas Department of Agriculture. The goal of the program is to improve and maintain children’s health and nutrition, promote good eating habits, and integrate nutritious food through organized after school programs. BISD campuses that offer afterschool programs or enrichment activities can also opt to have a cafeteria serving line at the end of the school day to serve supper. Students only need to provide a school ID to be served. BISD is participating in the Supper Program as part of a continuous effort to provide children with a quality learning environment and the tools necessary to succeed.
