BISD Celebrates Early Learning
Early childhood education is vital to our community. Children need a strong early learning foundation to succeed in school and to succeed in life. Week of the Young Child™, April 6-12, 2014, is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and early literacy, and to celebrate the teachers and policies that bring early childhood education to young children. Brownsville ISD recognizes the importance of a quality early childhood education for our youngest learners and takes this time to thank the many educators who work in preparing children acquire a firm foundation in order to be “College Ready, College Connected, College Completed!” Please join Brownsville ISD in continuing to advocate for young children and in thanking all the early childhood educators in our community who work with young learners. Make a difference in our community: • Support early literacy programs. Early reading skills are crucial for young children to be ready for school. • Reach out and thank parents, teachers, and all adults who help young children get a great start. • Support policies at the local, state, and federal levels that provide high-quality early learning opportunities for all young children. BISD campus celebrations for Week of the Young Child™ will include activities such as pajama day, stuffed animal day, purple day, crazy hair day, crazy hat day, and staff appreciation day.
