Middle School Bands Break Another Record

Brownsville ISD had the largest number of middle school bands to date earn 1st division scores at the 2011 UIL Band Middle School Concert and Sight-Reading Contest held at Lopez High School on March 30 and 31. A total of 22 BISD bands competed and 20 earned UIL awards. A record 11 bands earned UIL Sweepstakes trophies and 10 bands significantly improved their ratings from last year. BISD, known as a band powerhouse, produced top results once again with these middle school band performances. Click here to view the results.
